Fuzhou is also known as the Banyan City. Located in the eastern part of Fujian in the downstream reaches of the Minjiang River, it is the capital of Fujian Province. With a total area of 12,000 km and a population of 8.42 million, Fuzhou now has six districts, one county-level city and five counties under its jurisdiction.
Fuzhou Sedbergh School is situated 50 km from Fuzhou city, 14 km from Changle International Airport and 2 km from the coast and enjoys excellent air quality. Our campus covers a 16 hectare site and incorporates: two sports halls, an Olympic size swimming pool, lecture theatre, auditorium, Chinese cultural centre, recording and dance studios and many other world class facilities.

· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject;
· Recognised teaching qualification for the required age range (e.g. B.Ed., PGCE);
· Minimum of three years teaching experience in teaching the relevant subject in a senior school setting;
· Minimum of two years’ experience leading a successful Department;
· Previous experience of teaching ESL students;
· Sensitivity to the cultural differences found in China and the willingness to develop and maintain a cross-cultural approach to work;
· A positive attitude, professional collegial attributes, with a, ‘can do’, attitude;
· Committed to safeguarding and suitable to work with children in a boarding school setting.
